ADAPTING TO CHANGE
FOR SUCCESS
Being in business today presents many difficult challenges and requires an
ability to adapt and adjust to change to survive and be successful. We adopted
the coyote as our business logo because it exemplifies what adapting to change
can produce.
One of the most difficult things we have to deal with in our lives is change. We
tend to be creatures of habit and changing those habits can be very difficult
even when we know that negative things will occur if we don't. Not making
needed changes in our personal lives can make things more difficult, but not
making them in business can be fatal.
The Navajo Indians named the coyote "God’s Dog" because of its ability to survive and prosper in the midst of adversity.
For decades the coyote has been under assault from ranchers, hunters and others
who have declared war on them. They have chased, poisoned, clubbed, shot,
gassed, trapped and even electrocuted them and the coyote population has
multiplied and flourished. How?
Coyotes have an amazing ability to adapt to their changing environment and they
make very quick adjustments in their habits when needed. The size of their
litters increase or decrease in direct proportion to the death rate of adults.
The more killed -- the more born. Coyotes were once only found in the western
areas of North America. They are now found from the Atlantic to the Pacific and
from the Arctic to Central America.
